Our Journey

Hathor Symphony Orchestra was founded in 2021 by Maestro Ahmed Farag as a pioneering platform that brings together Egypt’s brightest young talents and seasoned professionals under one vision: to present music with authenticity and innovation. Named after the Egyptian goddess of music, beauty, and joy, Hathor reflects a commitment to celebrating cultural heritage while embracing new artistic horizons.

From the very beginning, Hathor set out to make an impact not only in Egypt but also internationally. For two consecutive years, the orchestra has represented Egypt at the prestigious Festival Symphonic in Algeria, performing alongside international ensembles and showcasing the strength and versatility of Egyptian musicianship. These appearances established Hathor as a cultural ambassador, carrying Egypt’s voice onto the global stage.

Domestically, Hathor has become a vibrant presence in Egypt’s most important festivals and cultural events. At the Cairo Opera House, the orchestra performed with world-renowned violinist Aysha Syed Castro, delivering a concert that highlighted Hathor’s ability to collaborate with international soloists of the highest caliber.

The orchestra has also had the honor of performing twice with the Egyptian superstar Ali El Haggar , once on the main stage of the Cairo Opera House, and again at the iconic Citadel Festival, where classical music met Egypt’s beloved Arabic song tradition in a powerful and memorable celebration of culture.

Another milestone came with the orchestra’s collaboration with Hesham Nazih, one of the Arab world’s most celebrated composers, in his premiere symphonic concert in El Gouna. This landmark event not only marked a new chapter in Egyptian symphonic music but also introduced Nazih’s cinematic sound world to live orchestral performance, with Hathor at the heart of the experience.

Through these concerts and collaborations, Hathor has quickly established itself as a leading force in Egypt’s cultural scene , versatile, ambitious, and deeply rooted in a vision that transcends borders. Each project reflects our belief that music is more than performance: it is dialogue, exchange, and a bridge between generations, genres, and nations.

As we continue our journey, Hathor Symphony Orchestra looks ahead to new projects, international collaborations, and innovative artistic ventures. Our aim remains clear: to inspire audiences, empower musicians, and make music a universal language that unites hearts and carries Egypt’s cultural voice proudly to the world.
